Frequently Asked Questions

How to Compute Senior Citizen Discount?

The computation for the Senior Citizen Discount in a Rate with VAT for a group are as follows:

For example:

A group of 3 pax with a Senior Citizen staying at a room that costs 2,400.00 per night

Net Rate = 2,400.00 / 1.12 = 2,142.86
VAT = 2,400.00 - 2,142.86
VAT = 257.14

If there are 3 pax, divide the VAT for each pax..
VAT / 3 Pax = 257.14 / 3
VAT (per head) = 85.71

Then multiply the VAT for the individuals who will not avail the Senior Citizen Discount..
VAT (per head) * 2 regular pax = 85.71 * 2
Total VAT = 171.46

Divide the Net Rate by 3 pax and apply the Senior Citizen Discount..
Net Rate / 3 pax = 2,142.86 / 3
Net Rate per head = 714.29

SC Discount = 714.29 * 20%
SC Discount = 142.86
SC Total Rate = 714.29 - 142.86
SC Total Rate = 571.43
